With the holidays coming to a peak I’m hearing bits and pieces here and there about how tough life is for them “this year” or the commercials on television that basically say you’re crap if you don’t buy your girl a diamond from a particular store. I stop and wonder if it really is that hard. I mean, do they have a place to live? Do they have food? Do they have a job? Do they have family?
Most of these people do. It’s the ones who don’t that you don’t hear from.
I’m sure that some thought this would be a trying holiday for Gary and I. I’m sure some thought that they had our lives in their hands and that we’d go crumbling down and we’d have a shitty end to a good year and a shitty holidays and all that jazz.
WELL I just gotta say that for SOME of us Christmas isn’t about how much shit my husband bought me or how much I could buy for him. My Christmas is about having a great husband to spend my time with, a family who (mostly) cares for me and knowing that we’re not living in a car, we do have food and heat, we’re not living minute to minute and day to day.
We’re fine.
We’re more than fine.
We’re happy and you can’t take that away.
